Exhibition Submissions


The Art Gallery of Sudbury | Galerie d’art de Sudbury welcomes proposals from local artists for exhibition opportunities offered in conjunction with our partners in this program, The Laughing Buddha, Sudbury Theatre Centre, and Pinchman’s Café & Artisan Bakery.

These opportunities are intended to be sales opportunities for local artists and to showcase works from professional and emerging artists, instructors and students of the City of Greater Sudbury and surrounding regions.

Please note that we are not accepting submissions for on-site exhibitions at this time.

The Laughing Buddha

(194 Elgin Street, Sudbury)

Ideal works for this space are edgy, thought provoking, and showcase a fresh perspective.

For exhibitions of 6-10 artworks (size dependent)

In this venue, artists can display their work for a three-month period and may offer their work for sale.


Proposals for dates in 2024 beginning 23 July being accepted.

Sudbury Theatre Centre

(170 Shaughnessy Street, Sudbury)

Ideal works for this space are project, theme and/or narrative-oriented.

For exhibitions of 8-12 artworks (size dependent)

In this venue, artists can display their work for a pre-determined period and may offer their work for sale.


All 2024 dates filled. Proposals for dates in 2025 being accepted.

Pinchman’s

Sudbury)

Ideal works for this space are smaller works (no taller than 45cm framed) that share a common theme or visual narrative. Artworks in a landscape orientation are ideal.

For exhibitions of 5-10 artworks (size dependent)

In this venue, artists can display their work for a pre-determined period and may offer their work for sale.


Proposals for dates in 2024 beginning 20 August being accepted.

Exhibition Assistance


The Art Gallery of Sudbury is a Recommender for the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) Exhibition Assistance Grants program. We invite visual, media and craft artists living in Zone 5 to apply for financial assistance for costs related to a confirmed upcoming exhibition.

Sell in our Shop


Local Colour is the art sales and rental program of the Art Gallery of Sudbury, which was established over 10 years ago. We are very proud to carry more than a hundred unique pieces from over 30 Ontario based artists, most of whom reside within the Greater Sudbury district. Talk about local!

We ask that anyone interested in selling within our Gift Shop forward a short biography and a minimum of four articles for consideration to [email protected] or fill out this form.
