Artist Biography
I am Chloé Thériault, a francophone artist here in Sudbury ON. While my work primarily revolved around theatre and writing, painting is where I source inspiration from.
While in high school, I experienced a head-trauma that pulled me out of school and the only place I could find refuge was with my 64 pack of Crayola crayons. I found shapes and colours to be quite the meditation I needed.
I recently reconnected with painting a couple years ago and the works you will find in this exposition are pieces that hold deep meditations and the processing of life events.
Shapes and colours are still to this day, my refuge from the bland, cements filled landscape we live in and perhaps where my brain can let go of rules and just follow the impulse.
I hope that my art can hold the power to remind people that art itself can be anything we want or need it to be, and that as simple as they are, shapes and colours are pretty cool.
