This exhibition represents a cross-section of artistic development from grades 9 through 12 in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and mixed media. This exciting exhibition of student artwork is an opportunity for the students to share their vision with family, friends, and the public. It also provides an opportunity for students to participate in a professionally executed art exhibition, providing the student artists recognition, encouragement, mentorship, a positive art experience and more.
The Emergence exhibition began in 1970 and is the only juried exhibition recognizing student artists in all of Northeastern Ontario. The opening celebration for Emergence brings together over 200 students, teachers, family and community.
This year 12 Secondary schools representing all four school boards – Rainbow District School Board, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, le Conseil Scolaire Public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario and le Conseil Scolaire Catholique du Nouvel-Ontario will participate in the annual exhibition.
