This exhibition represents a cross-section of artistic development from grades 9 through 12 in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and mixed media. This exciting exhibition of student artwork is an opportunity for the students to share their vision with family, friends, and the public. It also provides an opportunity for students to participate in a professionally executed art exhibition, providing the student artists recognition, encouragement, mentorship, a positive art experience and more.

The Emergence exhibition began in 1970 and is the only juried exhibition recognizing student artists in all of Northeastern Ontario. Student artists from secondary schools representing all four school boards in the Greater Sudbury region – Rainbow District School Board, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, le Conseil Scolaire Public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario and le Conseil Scolaire Catholique du Nouvel-Ontario are invited to participate in the annual exhibition.
