The Art Gallery of Sudbury invites you to a major new exhibition by Sudbury visual artist Elizabeth Holmes titled Thinking about Loss.

Elizabeth Holmes is a senior, multi-media artist based in Sudbury ON. She maintains a studio/gallery in downtown Sudbury, North Forte, where she exhibits her work and the work of other artists. Her art work is informed by her personal experiences, as well as observations of the experiences of others around her. Thinking about Loss is a paper-based art exhibition that explores the inherent beauty of discarded materials and the narrative stories which they carry, the passing of time, and change. The exhibition includes more than 65 art works and spans four decades of work of the artist’s work, from 1979 to 2019, evidencing techniques of collage, found objects and photography. The exhibition continues until April 21, 2019. Admission is by donation.

Elizabeth Holmes will also be leading two workshops in conjunction with her exhibition.
Collage Surprise, March 7, 1-4 pm, will be an exercise in collage and mixed media.
Studies in Form, March 28, 1-4 pm, will experiment with the effects of light and shadow on sculptural paper objects.
The registration cost for each workshop is $25.
