In 2014, Sudbury artist Mary Green gifted the Art Gallery of Sudbury with a major retrospective of her artworks comprising 15 series of works of art –184 photographs, one book of photographs and one video work — completed from 1978 through 2005. traces is the first exhibition drawn from The Mary Green Collection since the time of the donation. One of Northern Ontario’s most significant senior artists and art educators, Mary Green is a multidisciplinary artist who has lived and worked in Sudbury since the early 1980s. Born on Vancouver Island, she spent many of her formative years in the Ottawa Valley. Throughout her varied career, she has had solo exhibitions in Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste Marie, Kleinburg, Kingston and Ottawa and has participated in more than 60 group exhibitions across Canada since 1979. The exhibition features 31 photographs as selected by Demetra Christakos in conversation with the artist.  All of the works exhibited are analogue silver print photographs on fibre paper. Seven of the 15 donated series of art are represented including the series Child Vision, Sister Adorers of the Precious Blood, Nor Art, clic! captured in a drawer, Recent Photographs, Sudbury Art Now, and Water. The exhibition continues until Sunday, February 21, 2016. The exhibition is sponsored by Desjardins Sudbury
