Temporary closure of the Art Gallery of Sudbury | Galerie d’art de Sudbury

[Updated] 6 May 2024 – The Art Gallery of Sudbury’s public-facing operations have been temporarily re-located.  Please visit us at our location at 174 Elgin Street for our contemporary exhibitions. The Gallery Shop | Boutique is now located at 172 Elgin Street, right next to 174 Elgin Street. Hours of operation are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am to 5 pm. Please contact us at our new temporary phone number 705-921-6666.

Our youth and adult spring art education programs have been re-located to Sudbury Secondary School, 154 College St, in dedicated space in the former Adult Education Centre.

14 December 2023 – We regret to convey that the Bell Mansion building that houses the Art Gallery of Sudbury | Galerie d’art de Sudbury has been temporarily closed for structural analysis and repair.

New Online Exhibitions &
Additions to the Collections Portal

[28 March 2024] – The Art Gallery of Sudbury | Galerie d’art de Sudbury announces the addition of over 600 artworks by regional artists Mary Green and Doug Donley from the collections to the online Collections Portal.

This digital initiative, now containing over 800 works of art and artifacts in a searchable portal allows for easy discovery and research of gallery holdings. This project includes digital content development, digitization and the creation and graphic design of virtual exhibitions and an online archive of works and artistic ephemera presented in three languages: English, French, and Anishinaabemowin.

Capital Campaign

Over the next five years, the Art Gallery of Sudbury | Galerie d’art de Sudbury will change state. We will move from imagining our future in a new state-of-the-art building in downtown Sudbury, to building and opening a new and inspired Art Gallery of Sudbury | Galerie d’art de Sudbury.
