The Annual Juried Exhibition continues the tradition of the Northern Ontario Art Association (NOAA) providing Northern Ontario communities access to original art. Out of 150-200 submissions from the NOAA member artists across the north, 38 works of art are selected for the juried exhibition that will travel for a year to communities throughout Northern Ontario.

The Northern Ontario Art Association is comprised of a group of 15 independent Art Clubs, representing approximately 500 artists from clubs as far north as Timmins, to Sault St. Marie and Burks Falls in the south. Each of the clubs within their own regional boundaries is a hive of artistic creation during the winter and fall months. Many members also meet during the summer months, for outdoor workshops, and on-location painting jaunts.

The organization was formed in 1949 with a specific goal of furthering art education within remote northern communities, as well as promoting the appreciation of their original artwork. This exhibition would not be possible without funding from The City of Greater Sudbury, Ontario Arts Council, Government of Ontario, Canada Council for the Arts and the Government of Canada.
